Frequently asked questions.

What areas do you cover?

For dog walking customers I cover most of the Lancaster area. Please be sure to include your postcode when enquiring so I can ensure I cover your location. For pet sitting, I cover Lancaster and the wider areas including Morecambe, Heysham, Halton, Caton and Forton.

Will my dog be let off the lead?

At Paws Unleashed, I want the dogs to have the most fun and exciting walk possible. However, safety is my top priority. I regularly have my pooches off the lead, however this is only when it is deemed safe to do so and with permission from the owner. I seek out locations optimal for off-lead walking where possible. New dogs will usually stay on lead for their first 3 walks so that I am able to assess their recall before letting them off. With dogs that cannot be let off lead, a long line is used where possible to ensure they still get to explore and play with their friends!

How do I pay?

Invoices are sent out via email at the end of each calendar month for the preceding month meaning you don’t pay for the walks until after they have been done. Payments are made via cash or bank transfer.

How many dogs are in a group?

The absolute maximum number of dogs on one walk is 6. However, in most case, I prefer to limit this to 4 per group. This means each dog get’s more individual attention!

How long will my dog be out?

All the pooches get 1 hour of actual paws-on-the-ground walking time. When pick-up’s and drop-offs are considered, along with the size of that group and the location of the walk, you can expect your dog to be out of the house typically between 1 & 1/2 - 2 & 1/2 hours.

Will my dog always be on the same slot?

Typically, once we’ve found the right days, times and group for your dog, they will look to stay there. This gives you and your dog consistency and reliability. Pickup slots are usually given in a 1 hour time frame (such as 1pm-2pm) however the pickup may be slightly early or later than this depending on external factors such as traffic.
